Your Blood mountain hike is next weekend!

NAME_OF_HIKER,

Your Summit Blood Mountain hike with HIKE for Mental Health and hike organizer Laura from @peaks4pounds is next weekend! We look forward to seeing you there! Here’s what you need to know.

Getting started

Date: Saturday, May 3, 2025
Start time: Check-in is 9:30am. The hike will begin at 10am.
Location: Meet at the Byron Reece Trailhead, adjacent to the Byron Reece parking area, in Blairsville, Georgia. For Google Map directions, click here.
The plan:

Check in at the parking area by 9:30am. There is no fee to park, but the parking lot is small and fills up fast. Arrive early!

The hike will follow the Byron Reece Memorial Trail to its junction with the Appalachian Trail then continue on the AT to the summit of Blood Mountain. Return is via the same route.

Est. finish time: The hike will end back at the starting point by around 4pm.
Pets: Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a 6 ft. lead, but be mindful that not everyone is a dog-lover; keep your pet under your direct control at all times.
