For me, getting out into nature has always been more than just exercise, it is where I find peace, clarity, and perspective. I have always loved the outdoors, especially when shared with good friends. If you know me, you know I have a deep appreciation for The Lord of the Rings, and there is a real truth to the idea of a fellowship. Surrounding yourself with good people, taking on long journeys, and supporting each other through steep terrain makes all the difference.
This past year has been one of the toughest of my life. When things get heavy, nature becomes a sanctuary. Out on the trail, away from the noise, you learn how to carry what you are holding, endure the incline, and keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Each peak over this past year has felt like a personal milestone. Stepping up from Wachusett and Watatic to tackling the rock scrambles on Monadnock proved to me what I was capable of pushing through. In a few weeks, I am heading to the Adirondacks to climb Whiteface, continuing to build on those lessons before facing my biggest test yet.
Now, I am taking on Mount Washington as part of the Hike for Mental Health.
Mount Washington is a serious peak, but the cause behind it is even bigger. Mental health struggles are real, and no one should have to walk through their hardest chapters alone. I am hiking to support mental health awareness, fund critical research, and preserve the wilderness trails that offer so many of us a place to heal, reset, and rebuild.
Whether you donate to the cause or simply share this page, thank you for standing with my fellowship and supporting me on this journey up Washington!
