I have participated previously in HFMH Mount Washington climbs and unfortunately I will not be able to attend this year… but I have an excellent reason why. During this time in August, friends and I will be walking the Camino de Santiago, specifically the Camino Primitivo, from Oviedo to Santiago in Spain… that’s 320 km/200 miles. When I raised money for HFMH previously, I would always say that every donation would guilt me to the top of the mountain, and I guess this time is no different. Every donation will encourage me onwards towards the completion of this Camino.
Please consider a donation to this absolutely amazing organization where proceeds go directly towards mental health research, veterans’ mental wellness, and wilderness trail preservation. Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of those afflicted by mental illness, eliminate the associated stigma, and foster responsible use of wilderness trails.
As an all-volunteer organization, we distribute 100% of contributions raised by our hikes.
- 80% funds scientific research to understand and treat mental illness
- 20% conserves national wilderness trails
