Walk & Get Inked for Mental Health — Returns May 2026
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we’re coming together once again to break the stigma, build community, and support HIKE for Mental Health.
Walk & Get Inked for Mental Health is a two-part, family-friendly fundraiser focused on movement, connection, creativity, and access to mental health resources. Participants are welcome to attend both parts of the event or choose the option that best fits their schedule.
Part One: Mental Health Walk Fundraiser
Date: Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Walk Begins: 9:00 AM
(Rain or shine!)
Location: Middlesex Greenway, Metuchen, NJ
Main Entrance: 691–707 Middlesex Ave, Metuchen, NJ 08840
(Located across from Starbucks and next to Whole Foods)

Setup and registration begin at 8:00 AM. The walk is rain or shine unless weather conditions are unsafe. Any changes will be communicated via email.
The Middlesex Greenway is a paved trail that runs through Metuchen, Edison, and Fords, making this walk accessible for all ages and fitness levels. Strollers are welcome. Dogs are permitted if leashed, in accordance with county park rules. Owners are responsible for their dogs.
Participants may choose from among 3 walking distances. The day after you register, you will receive an email asking your choice of distance. Knowing your preferred distance in advance helps us plan for staffing/volunteers.
- Group 1: Two miles (estimated 1 hour)
- Group 2: Five miles (estimated 2 hours)
- Group 3: Seven miles (estimated 3 hours)
Parking is available. Carpooling is encouraged to ensure the Greenway remains accessible to the local community.
There are many entrances to the Greenway. Please use the address that is provided (691–707 Middlesex Ave, Metuchen, NJ 08840) because it will be hard to assist on the day of the event.

All walkers are required to register through HIKE for Mental Health, as a waiver must be signed. Participants may also create a free fundraising campaign to support HIKE for Mental Health.

Time: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
