As the owner’s  of a hiker hostel along the Appalachian Trail, we meet thousands of hikers every year. They come from every walk of life, carrying backpacks full of gear—and often, burdens that no one else can see. Out here, many aren’t just hiking for miles. They’re hiking for healing.

We’ve come to realize just how deeply hiking supports mental health—not only for those on long-distance journeys, but for all of us. We see it in the hikers who arrive worn down, quiet, sometimes struggling, and then leave with lighter steps and clearer eyes. And we feel it in our own life too. On the days we get out and walk, breathe deeply, and move my body through the woods, we feel stronger. More grounded. More ourselves.

That’s why we are raising funds for Hike for Mental Health, a nonprofit that works to eliminate the stigma around mental illness and supports mental health research and trail conservation.

🌿 100% of donations go directly to these causes—nothing is used for overhead.

Whether you are a thru-hiker, section hiker, weekend walker, or just someone who believes in the power of nature to heal, We invite you to join me. Your donation—no matter the size—makes a real impact. It helps keep the trails open and safe, and it helps fund programs and research that support mental wellness for all.

We hike for clarity.

We hike for strength.

We hike for healing.

Let’s Hike for Mental Health—together.

With gratitude and trail love,
